High-security padlocks

A2P-certified padlocks, cut-resistant and drill-resistant, in hardened or stainless steel. For roller shutters, bikes, containers and outbuildings: every professional and home application.

Choosing a padlock for the right use

A padlock is chosen on three criteria: the use (dry indoor, exposed outdoor, bike in town, transport), the shackle (length and diameter), and the locking method (key, combination, smart).

  • Bike / scooter in town: high-security U-lock or A2P chain, 13-16 mm shackle
  • Shop roller shutter: hardened padlock, class 4-5, 10-12 mm shackle
  • Cellar / outbuilding: armoured weatherproof padlock, 8-10 mm shackle
  • Container / lorry: high-security padlock with shrouded shackle, cut-resistant

Security levels

As with cylinders, high-end padlocks are A2P certified (French certification), with specific classes depending on the use:

Frequently asked questions

Which padlock for my bike in town?
Choose a FUB or SRA certified lock: a U-lock (rigid) or a hardened steel chain at least 13 mm in diameter. Avoid coiled cables (not enough in urban areas). Lock the frame + one wheel to a fixed point that is buried or anchored.
How do I choose the shackle length?
Measure the thickness of what you want to lock (door, ring, container) and add 20-30 mm for ease of handling. Short shackles (15-30 mm) are more secure (less room for tools) but less versatile.
Is a combination padlock as secure as a keyed one?
For a locker or non-sensitive storage: yes. For high-security use, choose a key: low and mid-range combination padlocks can be broken by pulling them apart. High-security combination models (Abus 158/65) remain a valid option.
Can my padlock rust outdoors?
Entry-level models can, especially by the sea or with freeze/thaw cycles. Choose stainless steel padlocks or ones with an anti-corrosion treatment (Abus Granit, Master Lock M40).
How many padlocks opening with the same key can I order?
On most high-end models, you can order keyed alike padlocks (KA), handy for managing several access points with a single key. Just say so when ordering: we supply the matching set.
